“Progressive theology and its willingness to look at the future, to make changes and to adapt; because of the music, the outreach work it does and of course, the wonderful staff and people who are Leaside United Church.”Nancy S.
For many years, a group of people have met on a Sunday morning before church to discuss books they have read on religion and spirituality and continue to do so on a regular basis. The group meets roughly every 4 – 6 weeks to discuss the current book the group has chosen to read. Past reads have included “The Kite Runner” by Khaled Hosseini, “Dark Age Ahead” by Jane Jacobs, “The Heart of Christianity” by Marcus Borg and “The Pagan Christ” by Tom Harpur, just to name a few.
Spirit Alive meets to explore matters of spirituality, meditate, and reflect together. Save the second Saturday morning of the month to meet at 10:00 to noon. Spirit Alive begins with coffee, snacks and fellowship followed by a period of led meditation, music, quiet time and reflection to deepen the sense of the spiritual at the center of one’s life.
