Lake Scugog Camp located in Nestleton, Ontario is a non-profit organization who aims to bring a summer camping experience to children, youth and mothers who are experiencing financial hardship. At Scugog, the campers are part of a safe and caring community where they are able to grow and be themselves. LUC supports the camp by supporting their Leader-In-Training program as well as collecting much needed clothing, shoes, bedding, towels and costumes for the operation of the summer camp.

El Hogar Trips 2012
We are planning to lead 2 trips to El Hogar in 2012. The first trip will be a work team trip over the March break departing tentatively on March 9th and returning on March 18th. Ideally this is suited to adults and mature high school students. The second trip will take place from March 19th or 20th and return on the 25th. This trip will be geared toward individuals who would like to experience El Hogar but would not be interested or able to participate in the manual labour projects. On this trip we would visit all three schools, meet the directors, interact with the children and learn firsthand about the remarkable journeys these children have travelled. There will be information sessions down the road, but for the time being we would like people who are interested, to let either Bill or myself know.
