Moderator’s Visit at Rosedale UC – Sunday, June 18, 2023

Leaside United Church, together with the other eight United Church congregations in the North Toronto Cluster, joined in a shared service of worship on Sunday, June 18 at 10:30am at Rosedale United (159 Roxborough Drive).
The Moderator, the Right Rev. Dr. Carmen Lansdowne, spoke on the theme “Meeting the Moment, Together”, and we celebrated communion during the service. There was a mass choir with choristers from the cluster congregations; the Mass Choir anthem was conducted by Matthew Boutda, and one of the hymns was the new offering dedication written by Rev. Emily Gordon and Matthew Boutda. If you would like to see the service, click on this LINK.

Birthday Celebration & Stewardship Slideshow – Sunday, June 11, 2023

Today we celebrated our church’s birthday and watched the annual Stewardship slideshow. We celebrated 6 years since the coming together of Leaside United Church and Presteign-Woodbine United Church, and all that we’ve done together since then. We also marked the 98th birthday of the United Church of Canada!
Our music included Let Us Build a House, which we sang during our very first Church Birthday service in 2017, and Bless Now O God, Our Journey, which we sang during our Church Birthday service last year. The choir anthem, sung by our Junior and Chancel Choirs, was John Rutter’s For the Beauty of the Earth. If you would like to watch the service and slideshow, click on this LINK.
