Rev. John
Reverend John G. Smith
Rev. John G. Smith came to Leaside United in 2007. His primary roles are preaching, pastoral care and administration, among other things. John (we call him Rev. John because there are so many John’s at Leaside) has been a minister in the United Church since 1984, when he graduated from Queen’s after completing degrees in theology and music. He loves to read and enjoys preaching from a “progressive” standpoint. He also loves to travel, play music, and spend time with family and friends. When not at the church, John is currently finishing a program in financial and retirement planning, writing a book, and renovating his kitchen. Married to Joan, a hospital chaplain, they have two great kids in their 20′s, and a very black cat named Midnight.
